    What is tax planning?

Tax planning is an important element of financial management, as it prepares you for your tax payments and helps to structure your affairs in the most tax-efficient manner. During the planning process, it is possible to uncover tax-saving opportunities which could significantly reduce your tax liabilities. Additionally, tax planning helps to ensure compliance with UK tax laws and regulations.

At Archimedia Accounts, when it comes to tax advice, we are firm believers in looking at the bigger picture – why save £10k today if it means you’ll lose £100k in the future? We will examine all of your available options to help you plan for tax in the most efficient way with the most profitable outcome.

    Our tax planning services

At Archimedia Accounts, our goal is to make you as tax efficient as possible to maximise your profits and personal wealth.

As part of our tax planning services, we will hold a meeting with you every three months (or every month if your company is larger), to understand where you are now and where you are heading.

During our meeting (via Zoom or in person), we will discuss your current financial situation, your strategic plans for the next year, and your business and personal goals. Once we gain a clear understanding of your goals, we can structure your affairs in the most tax-efficient way and look to save money wherever possible.

Our goal is not just for you to pay less tax – it’s to help you achieve your financial dream.

For most, that means a profitable company, financial stability, passive income, the freedom to do the things they want and to ensure their family is provided for. Tax planning is an essential part of achieving this, and we’ll be there to support you and advance your financial plan each step of the way.

    Business tax planning

Business tax planning is at the heart of our accounting service. We help many limited companies to prepare for their Corporation Tax return and ensure that they make the most of the deductions available.

As a company director, we can give advice on your personal tax position and succession planning. We can advise on the most tax-efficient way of taking money from your limited company, whether that’s a salary, dividend, mobile phones, trivial benefits, making payments into a pension and ensuring you utilise your family’s personal allowances.

It’s important that we have a good understanding of any future business decisions, such as buying assets or vehicles, purchasing business property, selling assets, taking on staff, incentive schemes, pension investing, and plans to sell your business, as these all have a major impact on your tax position. You don’t want your retirement money going to HMRC if it doesn’t have to!

    Personal tax planning

Business tax planning and personal tax planning go hand in hand, as essentially, it all comes out of the same pot and contributes towards fulfilling your goals. We’ll help you to structure your personal and business tax affairs, so you don’t end up shooting yourself in the foot.

Our tax planning team has a thorough understanding of the UK tax system. Your tax liabilities and any tax reliefs you are entitled to are all interlinked, and we can help you see the bigger picture and find the sweet spot to help save money.

    Capital Gains Tax

Capital Gains Tax affects you from a business tax and personal tax point of view. Selling and buying assets has a knock-on effect on your other tax liabilities, so we need a good understanding of your future plans.

Capital Gains Tax can be minimised with good planning; for example, if you have plans to sell larger assets (such as your business), we can plan in the years leading up to the sale in order to save you money. In some cases, we’ve saved our clients a vast amount of money by planning ahead and making smart decisions. All the more for the pension pot!

    Income tax

We help limited company owners, and sole traders plan successfully for their self-assessment income tax bill each year. We don’t just look at it in isolation, however. We will look at how your income tax affects the other taxes you pay, such as Capital Gains and Dividend Tax.

    Research and Development Tax Credits

Companies that incur costs to develop new products, processes, or services, or enhance existing ones, are eligible for R&D tax relief. This may mean that the company’s tax liability is reduced or that the company can have cash back.

We will assess any product or service developments, analysing the costs incurred to assess whether an R & D claim can be made. We have often seen companies using this benefit to innovate further, empowering them to remain competitive within their field.

Why choose Archimedia Accounts for tax planning?

“If I were given one hour to save the planet, I would spend 59 minutes defining the problem and one minute resolving it.” Albert Einstein

At Archimedia Accounts, we don’t just scratch the surface of a client’s financial circumstances. We go much deeper than that and are dedicated to spending time with our clients to understand their business, property, personal and family situation, as well as their future goals.

We have saved clients thousands in tax because we are committed to understanding their situation and goals.

Only once we’ve fully understood our clients’ situation do we begin structuring things from a tax perspective.

When you work with us, you can expect to pay a fixed, transparent fee each month for your services (e.g. VAT, payroll, self-assessment tax returns etc.). You can call or email our tax planning team as often as you wish, with no restrictions.

We encourage regular communication and are here to answer your questions and relieve your accounting concerns. If we can continue to talk freely and often, we can help you to achieve tax efficiency and move you further towards your financial dreams.
